"The vaccine assistance was provided to help the regional government."Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The Food And Agricultural Organization (FAO) has provided Bali with 130,000 rabies vaccines, an official confirmed to Antara today.
"The vaccine assistance was provided to help the regional government carry out its third phase of mass vaccination," explained Head of Bali`s Animal Husbandry Service I Putu Sumantra here on Saturday.
He further stated that the assistance came at a time when Bali had run short of vaccines due to its inability to access funds from the state budget.
Mantra said that with the FAO assistance, Bali`s third phase of rabies vaccinations could be carried out as per the previous plan.
He said that thanks to this assistance, Bali now has a rabies vaccine surplus. "When we were running short of vaccines, we were seeking cooperation while FAO too was looking for a partner at the same time," he said.
