A public opinion is being created that PDIP is seeking to dictate Jokowi and that Jokowi is getting tired of PDIP, secretary general of the ruling party Hasto Kristiyanto said.Jakarta (ANTARA News) - A discourse to form a new party for Joko Widodo (Jokowi) gave greater evidence that a big "project" is in the making to set apart the president and his party PDIP, secretary general of the ruling party Hasto Kristiyanto said.
"It is too early to talk about new political party for 2019 presidential election. PDIP is still the political backbone for the government of Jokowi and Jusuf Kalla," Hasto said here on Tuesday.
The suggestion that PDIP has exerted pressure on Jokowi is baseless, he said, pointing out PDIP had no complaint even if it had only four of its cadres in the cabinet.
He said Jokowi is focused on his state duties and had no time to think about new party, adding the idea of forming a new party for Jokowi is aimed only at creating rift between PDIP and Jokowi.
A public opinion is being created that PDIP is seeking to dictate Jokowi and that Jokowi is getting tired of PDIP, he said.
Jokowi and Ganjar Pranowo (Central Java governor) are among PDIP cadres that emerged through regional elections and Jokowi continued his success in presidential election, he said.
PDIP that helped usher Jokowi to the presidency will certainly support all government policy, which were inspired by Bung Karnos Trisakti teaching.
PDIP cadres in the grass root level do not have to be troubled by the discourse, he said, adding Jokowi is a PDIP cadre and "forming a new party had never crossed his mind even for a second."
He said Jokowi is now a president and a national leader that itr is natural that should seek communications with anyone that could contribute to the national interest including leaders of the Red and White Coalition (KMP).
KMP groups political parties that form a strong opposition faction at the Parliament.
KMP leader Prabowo Subianto, who Jokowi defeated in the last presidential election met the president at the Bogor Palace last week creating political speculation that Jokowi wanted to show that he did not rely for political baking not only on PDIP. (*)
