Jakarta (ANTARA News) - South Korean female gymnasts Seojeong Yeo won gold in the final match of women`s artistic gymnastics in the vault table category at JIExpo Hall D, Kemayoran, Jakarta, on Thursday.

Seojeong scored 14,387 ahead of Uzbekistan gymnast Oksana Chusovitina, who had to settle for silver, with a score of 14,287, and Rye Yong Pyon from North Korea, who won bronze with a score of 13,875.

Seojeong`s success in winning gold was because of the perfect jump and landing in two trials in the final.

Meanwhile, Indonesian gymnast Rifda Irfanaluthfi had to settle for the fourth place, after scoring only 13,287.

After the match, Rifda admitted that North Korean gymnast Rye Yong Pyon, who finished third, was superior in her difficulty score.

"Because the one above me, who was ranked third, indeed had a superior difficulty score than me," Rifda explained.

The athlete, who was born on October 16, 1999, in Jakarta, also admitted that she was a little nervous in facing the final match.

Meanwhile, Indonesian artistic gymnastics trainer Eva Novalina T Butar-Butar stated that gymnasts who won the top three positions were indeed superior in the level of difficulty in jumping.

"If I am already predictive, even though these top three even fall, the above values must be increased by the level of difficulty and if we see Rifda has the strength there, but it must be improved," Eva said after the match.

Rifda`s opportunity to win a medal was still wide open as she will still compete in the final of the artistic exercise in the floor exercise category on Friday (Aug 24) at the same place. *** 4 ***
