Kupang, E Nusa Tenggara, (ANTARA News) - Corporate Communications of PT Telekomunikasi Selular Nusa Landmark, Teny Ginaya, said that cellular network coverage in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) has included 90 percent of the province's border areas.

While the remaining 10 percent were not yet covered, as further coordination among competent and relevant parties was still going on, Teny Ginaya told Antara on Thursday.

Indonesian citizens who live in border areas, such as in the village of North Netemnanu, Amfoang Subdistrict, Kupang District , and Oecusse, have difficulty using the internet from Telkomsel Indonesia.

They were forced to buy internet vouchers from neighboring Timor Leste to communicate.

"The process of building Telkomsel BTS (Base Transciever Station) in the NTT border area has reached 90 percent. There are still 10 percent of the border areas that have not been covered," he said.

He added the construction of BTS in the border area remains a priority for Telkomsel at this time to support government programs in meeting the communication needs of the people in the border areas.
