"We discuss the structure at the Ministry of Defense, as there will be a change," Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform Minister Syafruddin stated here on Thursday.
Jakarta (ANTARA News) - President Joko Widodo called several ministers to the Presidential Palace in Jakarta on Thursday to discuss changes in the structure of the Ministry of Defense.

Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform Minister Syafruddin, Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati, Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung, and Defense Minister Ryamizard Ryacudu were among the many attendees at the meeting.

"We discuss the structure at the Ministry of Defense, as there will be a change," Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform Minister Syafruddin stated here on Thursday.

The minister did not elaborate further regarding the structural changes on whether downsizing would be conducted.

"Some are downsized, while others are flexible according to the needs in relation to defense issues," the minister noted.

The minister confirmed that no changes will be made in the budget in the near future.

"During the meeting, the finance minister just listens. The change in the structure will have implications on the budget later," the minister remarked.

On the occasion, the minister also reported on the evaluation of a civil servant enrollment test (CPNS) in 2018.

"The CPNS in 2018 has concluded, and we are just waiting for the Employee Identity Number (NIP). We will also conduct the civil servant enrollment test in 2019. However, it will be in the sixth month," the minister stated.

Meanwhile, speaking in connection with the implementation of civil servants` salary hike in 2019, the minister stated that the Ministry of Finance will handle the increase.
