The illegal firearms are long guns AR-15, M16 modified into M4 and shotgun, a Glock pistol, a Glock with a silencer, and G2 pistol.
The police also discovered an active grenade at his house, Jakarta Metropolitan Police Chief Comm. Gen. Gatot Eddy Pramono stated here on Tuesday.
Pramono revealed that all weapons were kept in a big safe box in the house.
"On December 28, we found some firearms, four long guns, and three short guns, and also ammunition and hand grenade," Pramono stated.
The police investigation is yet ongoing to unearth the approach followed by AM to obtain the firearms.
"Our preliminary investigation indicated that all weapons are illegal. We are still investigating how he can obtain (the firearms)," Pramono added.
However, Pramono confirmed that AM was not involved in any criminal gang or terrorist network.
"He used the firearms to take pictures, only inside his house and not in other places. However, we are yet investigating it," he noted.
AM was arrested after he threatened two high school students at gunpoint over a remark they made on his Lamborghini on Saturday (Dec 21) at the Kemang area, South Jakarta.
He fired the gun into the air thrice to stop the students from running.
In its further investigation, the police found that AM has consumed marijuana.
Following the incident, the students reported the incident to the police that led to AM’s arrest on Monday. The police seized from the suspect a Beretta .32 pocket pistol — for which he had a license from the Indonesian Shooting Association (Perbakin) — as well as three used bullet casings and nine live rounds.
The police has also seized several specimens of taxidermied protected animals in a search conducted on Thursday (Dec 26) in his house. Related news: Bali police investigate package of firearms from China
