Head of the Surabaya Health Office, Nanik Sukristina, said that earlier, Surabaya Mayor Eri Cahyadi had sent a letter to the Ministry of Health regarding vaccine supply.

Sukristina assured that Surabaya currently has sufficient vaccine stocks for administering booster vaccinations.
According to her, booster vaccinations in Surabaya are currently being run using the existing stock of Pfizer vaccines.
She said that the vaccine allocation was renewed on March 4, 2022, and the Surabaya Health Office is waiting for the vaccines to arrive.

Outlining the vaccination achievement in Surabaya, she informed that 341,659 or 58.79 percent of the targeted 581,134 general population and public servants in the city have been vaccinated against COVID-19 so far.
Meanwhile, 239,475 or 41.21 percent of the targeted recipients have not been vaccinated, she added.
"We are providing booster vaccinations at all community health centers (Puskesmas) in Surabaya city. Aside from that, we are also holding vaccinations at several vaccination centers, such as in malls, the Atlas sports center, offices, and many more," she said.

The Health Office head appealed to residents who have not received the third or booster shot to get one promptly.
As part of efforts to boost community immunity against COVID-19, the Indonesian government launched a nationwide vaccination program on January 13, 2021.
According to data provided by the Health Ministry, as of March 5, 2022, nearly 191,835,428 Indonesians have received their first COVID-19 jab, 147,280,509 have been fully vaccinated, and 11,942,963 have received the booster shot.
