Jakarta (ANTARA) - Tourism and Creative Economy Minister Sandiaga Uno encouraged 17 sub-sectors in the creative economy sector to enter the e-Catalog made by the National Public Procurement Agency (LKPP).

This aims to ensure that the consumption of domestic goods made by creative economy actors can be further utilized by the government.

"Domestic product purchase and utilization done through e-Catalog and online shop can potentially increase economic growth by up to 1.7 percent," Uno noted in a statement on Friday.

The allocation of government goods and service procurement must absorb local Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) products up to 40 percent.

Uno informed President Joko Widodo that his ministry will continue to ensure that actors of creative economy, creative industry, and creative MSMEs join the LKPP's e-Catalog.

"This LKPP e-Catalog is the government's only digital platform," he noted during the Affirmation Action for National Movement for Proud of Indonesian-made Products event in Grand Hyatt, Nusa Dua, Bali.

From these 17 creative economy sub-sectors, culinary, fashion, and craft are the three biggest sub-sectors that contribute 75 percent to the gross domestic product (GDP).

"Creative economy contributes more than Rp1,100 trillion to Indonesia's GDP in 2020. In terms of business actors, the creative economy sector has eight million business actors," he noted.

Digital Product and Creative Economy Deputy at the Tourism an Creative Economy Ministry Muhammad Neil El Himam remarked that within the 17 creative economy sub-sectors, there are sub-sectors that produce tangible goods and services.

These sub-sectors, such as fashion, culinary, and craft, tend to be easier for the procurement process starting from purchase to reporting.

"However, for sub-sectors, with intangible product or service, such as art show and photography, it is also expected that they can be included within the e-Catalog," Himam noted.

"We hope for support and cooperation from the LKPP, so that the service sector, such as photography, can enter the e-Catalog," he stated.
