Belitung, Babel (ANTARA) - Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Sandiaga Salahudin Uno urged micro, small and medium enterprises (MSME) actors in Belitung, Bangka Belitung Islands Province, to improve the quality of their product packaging to welcome the meeting of G20 Development Ministers on 7-9 September 2022.

"The packaging must be improved. It is not only putting the G20 logo on products," Sandiaga Uno said in Sijuk, Belitung, on Sunday.

The statement was conveyed by the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy when visiting the Belitung Creative House as well as providing training to MSME actors in the area.

According to him, the implementation of the ministerial-level meeting for the development of the G20 forum countries in Belitung is an opportunity for economic revival and for the people of the region.

He encouraged MSME actors to prepare themselves as well as to welcome the international scale agenda.

"Although the taste of the product is good, but the packaging is not attractive, the G20 participants are not interested in local products regardless of their high selling values," he said.

Uno said that the delicious taste of MSME products must be harmonized with a good, neat and ready-to-export packaging appearance.

"Earlier, I saw that there was rengginang product, mini-gangan, produced by Mandikini, a businessman from Belitung, which resembled ready-to-export packages," he said.

Meanwhile, in terms of the readiness of tourism destinations, Belitung is ready for tourism, he said, adding that there is no destination for sports-based tourism and a sustainable destination that can match Belitung.

"Belitung really has very strong characteristics. Therefore, we have to mix natural beauty with supporting infrastructure, and qualified human resources so that we can create job opportunities," he said.
