Jakarta (ANTARA) - The government is targeting to rake in Rp2,443.6 trillion (US$165.1 billion) in state revenues in 2023 to continue the national development agenda.

The revenues include, among others, tax revenues of Rp2,016.9 trillion (US$136.27 billion) as well as non-tax revenues (PNBP) of Rp426.3 trillion (US$28.8 billion).

"The enhancement of state revenues will be carried out by optimizing tax revenues and reforming the management of PNBP," President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) informed in his speech on the Draft State Budget (RAPBN) for the 2023 fiscal year and financial notes.

Widodo delivered the speech during the plenary meeting of the House of Representatives (DPR) for the 2022–2023 sitting period, at the Parliamentary Complex here on Tuesday.

The President said that to bolster Indonesia’s independence in financing its national development projects, the government will continue to implement tax reforms.

The reforms will involve expanding the tax base, increasing compliance, as well as improving tax governance and administration to increase the tax ratio.

"In addition, the provision of various appropriate and measurable tax incentives is expected to expedite recovery and increase the competitiveness of the national investment sector, as well as encourage national economic transformation," he said.

Meanwhile, efforts to increase the value of PNBP will continue to be carried out by improving the business planning and reporting processes using integrated information technology as well as strengthening the governance and supervision of economic activities.

In addition, efforts to enhance the PNBP value will also be conducted by optimizing asset management, intensifying collection and settlement of receivables, as well as encouraging service innovation while maintaining quality and affordability, the President added.

The utilization of the state budget in 2023 will be focused on five main national development agendas, he informed.

The agendas include advancing Indonesian human resources, accelerating infrastructure development, increasing the effectiveness of bureaucratic reforms, revitalizing the industrial sector, as well as encouraging green economy development.
