Jakarta (ANTARA) - Governor of Jakarta Anies Baswedan said he had high respect for the Jakarta Regional People's Representative Council's (DPRD's) sessions held to deliberate the process to discharge him and deputy governor Ahmad Riza Patria.

The terms of office of Baswedan and Patria will expire next October, and those to fill in the replacements will take office on an acting basis, pending the 2024 Regional Elections.

"We respect all processes as we respect other (legislative) processes," Baswedan stated at the Jakarta City Hall here on Monday.

The governor emphasized that the ongoing process should be respected, as the sessions are part of the duties of regional legislators.
