This is one of the forms of adaptation in searching for solutions to handle current global challenges
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Indonesia Eximbank (LPEI) unveiled a book titled "Road to Poland" that discussed Poland as Indonesia's export gateway to Central and Eastern Europe.

This unveiling was undertaken during the 2022 Indonesia Central and Eastern Europe (INACEE) Business Forum on October 19, 2022, with the theme of "Connecting Businesses."

"This is one of the forms of adaptation in searching for solutions to handle current global challenges," Head of Business and Economic Research Development at LPEI Rini Satriani noted through an official statement, Wednesday.

This books discusses the competitiveness of Indonesia's leading export products to Poland, including the potential development of exports and cooperation or business opportunities that can be enhanced between both nations.

The book was formulated by LPEI and the Indonesian Embassy in Warsaw to bolster bilateral cooperation, economic collaboration, and trade and investment between Indonesia and partner countries, specifically in Central and Eastern Europe.

Central and Eastern Europe is a potential market for Indonesia's export products since the region has a population of over 410 million people, with an average per capita income of above US$10 thousand.

This leads to Central and Eastern Europe potentially becoming the export destination and entryway for Indonesian products to the European Union, Western and Southern Europe, as well as Central Asia.

In 2021, Indonesia's export value to the region had reached US$1.78 billion, with Poland becoming the biggest export destination.

Poland is Indonesia's biggest export destination for Central and Eastern Europe, with the total export value of US$654.6 million, or increased by 48.40 percent (yoy) in 2021.

Poland is interested in several Indonesian products including instant noodles, coffee candy, batik, furniture, coffee, and palm.

Satriani noted that entering a new market is a challenge for exporters, so the opportunities and risks within the export destination country should be identified comprehensively.

The "Road to Poland" book discusses the opportunities, development, and projection of Poland's economy amid the developments of global trade, including with Indonesia.

To this end, the book can be an initial guideline and reference for exporters in entering Central and Eastern Europe that currently have a gross domestic product (GDP) of above US$4 trillion, specifically to Poland.
