"(The trauma healing service) is to restore residents' spirit and the normal conditions surrounding the crime scene," West Java Police Public Relations Division Head Senior Commissioner Ibrahim Tompo stated here, Friday.
The trauma healing service is provided by a team comprising women police, he stated while explaining that the session activities included interactions with participating residents to understand their mental conditions.
The team understood that residents have varied mental responses after accidentally witnessing the suicide bombing, particularly as the incident incurred two casualties: the perpetrator and a police officer.

"(During the session), we encourage (participants) to forgo anything about the bombing," Tompo remarked.
Moreover, the senior commissioner confirmed that the Astanaanyar police office will be closed until further notice, and Astanaanyar residents in need of police services will be redirected to the Bandung police office.
"There will be officers stationed (at the Astanaanyar police office) to direct residents, who require police services, to the municipal police office," he remarked.
A suicide bombing occurred at the Astanaanyar police office in Bandung, West Java, Wednesday at 8 a.m. local time (UTC +7). The perpetrator was killed instantly.

Some 11 people, including 10 police officers and a resident, fell victim to the bombing. First Adjunct Inspector Sofyan was killed in the bombing after being evacuated to a hospital.
Vice President Ma'ruf Amin strongly condemned the suicide bombing as being harmful to humanity and that it completely disregarded religious teachings.
"Often events occur in the name of religion, but basically, it is far from the essence of understanding religion itself, and it is very regrettable and must be condemned for such actions," vice president's spokesperson, Masduki Baidlowi, delivered Amin's statement on Wednesday.
