"We expect highly enthusiastic media participation. Hopefully, the results of the 42nd ASEAN Summit, which will be chaired by Mr President (Joko Widodo), can be broadcast quickly and well to the community, so they are aware of all the produced pillars," Plate noted in a press release on Monday (May 8).
After reviewing the event's media center at Hotel Bintang Flores, Labuan Bajo, Plate stated that digital and telecommunications infrastructure and facilities there are sufficient.
"There is high-speed internet, 4G, and 5G facilities. The services are made available through fiber optics," he remarked.
The minister noted that Telkomsel, the cellular operator partner for the summit's implementation, has added several base transceiver stations (BTS) and the BTS Combat.

Plate also noted that no unwanted incidents had occurred so far and expressed hope that the best services will continue to be provided during the summit.
He said information and communication technology (ICT) facilities in the media center are aimed at helping the media crew in supporting the successful implementation of the 42nd ASEAN Summit.
As of Monday afternoon, at least 448 media outlets had been registered and verified by the committee.
He remarked that President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) will visit the media center on Tuesday to review preparations ahead of the 42nd ASEAN Summit.
"The head of state will also hold an official press conference on May 13, 2023. Hopefully, the media will get all the deliverables produced during the two days of the summit," he stated.
