Penajam, East Kalimantan (ANTARA) - Nusantara Capital Authority (OIKN) Head Bambang Susantono stated that the new capital has the best investment opportunities for domestic and foreign investors.

Susantono said in a statement received here on Tuesday, investment opportunities are reflected in various incentives offered to investors in the new capital.

The new capital city, as a living laboratory, is also an ideal medium to research new ideas, he affirmed.

"Various new technologies are welcomed in Nusantara. Hence, partners would have opportunities to make Nusantara City a place to experiment with their ideas and innovations," the capital authority head remarked.

He stressed that the new capital would also play an active role in the global efforts to address climate change, reinvigorate biodiversity, and achieve sustainable development goals.

Nusantara City is planned to be a nature-based city, with 75 percent of its areas to be maintained as green zones, Susantono noted.

The plan to optimize public transportation as mobility modes for its residents and renewable energy sources would provide new investment opportunities in the new capital, he affirmed.

Meanwhile, the OIKN head emphasized that now is the right time for investors to invest in Indonesia, particularly in the new capital, as the national economy is projected to grow positively.

"The International Monetary Fund (IMF) projected that the Indonesian economy will grow by 5.1 percent in 2023 and 5 percent in 2024," Susantono remarked.

Earlier, Susantono said that the government had formed a special task force to support coordination between ministries and institutions for accelerating investment in the new capital.

The task force, chaired by Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan will coordinate inter-departmental communication between institutions to support investment in Nusantara City, he stated.

He highlighted that the government had also formed a land sector task force to ensure that the land offered in the new capital to investors is “clean and clear.”
