"The first (measure) is capacity building for the government, business actors, and the community," director general of human rights at the ministry, Dhahana Putra, informed after a media dialogue here.
The second measure is mapping regulations that are related to business and human rights, which includes mapping policies and guidelines that support the protection and respect of human rights.
"Third is recovery. Recovery in this case is making a complaint mechanism for potential violations in the sector of business and human rights," he explained.
Regarding the third measure, the government will build a complaint platform for victims of human rights violations in the business sector.
Putra said that the complaint mechanism is mandated by the regulation.
"The presidential regulation mandates the government to prepare a complaint mechanism," he added.
Furthermore, Putra said that the government is finalizing a ministerial regulation concerning coordination between the national and regional task forces in implementing the Stranas BHAM.
"There is a draft of ministerial regulation on the coordination between the national task force and the regional task forces. Hopefully, it can be finished this year. It is the regulation to apply the presidential regulation," he said.
Earlier in October, President Joko Widodo ratified the draft of Stranas BHAM into Presidential Regulation No. 60 of 2023.
Putra said that the ratification was the government's concrete step to encourage the respect of human rights values in the business world.
The ratification of Stranas BHAM is also proof of the government's determination to realize a sustainable business climate, he added.
