"IKN shows a strategic step and reflects Indonesia's commitment to sustainable urban development and resilience in facing climate change," Hadimuljono noted in Jakarta, Tuesday.
Indonesia is currently building IKN Nusantara that is located on Kalimantan Island.
IKN is being built to become a transformative city towards the progress of Indonesian civilization in line with the concept of "Future Smart Forest City."
The concept aims to demonstrate national identity; ensure social, economic and environmental sustainability; as well as create a smart modern city with international standards.
"The PUPR Ministry plays a significant role in ensuring the availability of basic infrastructure, such as road access, water supply, and government offices," Hadimuljono stated.
The minister remarked that with the big target that should be achieved by the end of 2024, innovation in business processes is indispensable for the PUPR Ministry, especially through the application of information technology in the Industry 4.0 era.
The PUPR Ministry has a Geodatabase covering the entire cycle of public works and housing infrastructure development projects based on spatial plans, starting from planning, design, land acquisition, construction, operations, and maintenance as well as monitoring and evaluation.
"Geodatabases are one of the policy-making instruments for the PUPR Ministry, especially for strategic projects, such as the development of IKN Nusantara," Hadimuljono stated.
He remarked that the Building Information Model (BIM) technology integrates the process stages of all sectors covered in the development of IKN Nusantara.
Nusantara is the future capital city of Indonesia that is determined and regulated by Law Number 3 of 2022 and located on the east coast of Kalimantan Island.
The area of Nusantara is almost four times that of Jakarta, namely approximately 256,142 hectares and sea area of 68,189 hectares.
IKN Nusantara changes the development orientation to become Indonesia-centric and has the function to accelerate the country's economic transformation.
