Four polling stations readied in the nursing home area were Polling Station Number 72, Polling Station Number 73, Polling Station Number 91, and Polling Station Number 92.
Before voting, the people, who were wearing maroon-colored uniforms, were given guidance on how to vote.
“For 2024, there are 445 people included in the electoral roll spread to four polling stations located in the nursing home’s area,” Head of the Bina Laras Harapan Sentosa 2 Nursing Home, Syahrul, stated on the sidelines of the voting.
According to Syahrul, those four polling stations are designated for the residents of the nursing home and not for the public.
For the voting, the East Jakarta Office of the General Elections Commission (KPU) and the East Jakarta Office of the General Elections Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu) have carried out four information dissemination and simulation events.
Syahrul noted that the nursing home’s residents were happy to be able to vote.
Earlier, on Tuesday (February 13), Head of Implementation Techniques at the Jakarta KPU Dody Wijaya stated that polling stations for people with mental disorders treated in Jakarta are centered in three nursing homes.
The three nursing homes are the Bina Laras Harapan Sentosa 2 Nursing Home, the Bina Laras Harapan Sentosa 1 Nursing Home in Cengkareng, West Jakarta, and the Bina Laras Harapan Sentosa 3 Nursing Home in Grogol Petamburan, West Jakarta.
