Bogor, West Java (ANTARA) - Vice President-elect Gibran Rakabuming Raka revealed that private parties will fund the trial for the free nutritious lunch program until October 2024.

"We are so happy because, without the support of private firms, the ongoing trial will not run well," Gibran stated while checking the program trial implementation at a public elementary school (SDN) here on Tuesday.

Gibran noted that after he and President-elect Prabowo Subianto launched the free lunch program trial, several parties were keen to participate, including private corporations through their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).

"Many companies are motivated to (join), such as GoTo and TikTok," he revealed.

GoTo organized the free nutritious lunch program trial at SDN 02 and SDN 03 in Sentul, Bogor, West Java.

Hundreds of lunch packages for students were delivered by the Gojek food service delivery by involving online-based motorcycle taxi drivers (ojol).

"Today's menu cost Rp14,900, which includes chicken, rice, vegetable, fruits, and a box of milk. This also confirmed that the budget will not be cut to Rp7,500," Gibran stated.

He ensured that the program's budget would not be cut.

"The budget for our nation's next generation must not be small. The menu might be different, but it is impossible to cut the budget to Rp7,500," he remarked.

He stated that the program trial will be continued until October 2024, ahead of the inauguration of the new president and vice president for the 2024-2029 period.

During the trial, several different schemes will be tested, and ultimately, the most suitable and effective scheme will be selected.

Nevertheless, the program will involve micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), small restaurants, and catering businesses.

"We will follow up and evaluate the flaws and will try many schemes until October," Gibran stated.
