Though praising the BNPP for its hard work and good performance, the minister urged his ranks serving at the agency to continue to aim for improvements and echo their achievements to the public.
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Home Affairs Minister Tito Karnavian instructed the National Border Management Agency (BNPP) to step up its coordination with related ministries and agencies to pursue optimal implementation of programs.

"The BNPP essentially acts as a coordinating agency instead of the main executor. Its main strength lies in coordination, which finds its key in communication, particularly informal. Hence, the BNPP needs to establish intensive communication with central and regional stakeholders," he elaborated.

As cited from his ministry's statement here, Karnavian made his remarks during the 14th anniversary of the BNPP in Jakarta.

The minister underlined that intensive cross-institutional communication is vital since the budgets allocated for managing border regions are distributed among different ministries and agencies.

Hence, to this end, he said, a sound level of coordination with the relevant institutions is crucial for the BNPP to ensure that their programs align with the vision of the border management agency.

Karnavian then suggested that the BNPP involve related ministries and agencies to conduct its programs in various regions while aiming for productive results.

He also emphasized the need to station a person in charge in each institution related to the functions of the BNPP.

"I repeat, it is important to communicate and coordinate to actualize development in border regions since the needs of each region may vary, starting from markets, docks, schools, fishermen's hubs, and ships. Other institutions hold the budgets required," he remarked.

Though praising the BNPP for its hard work and good performance, the minister urged his ranks serving at the agency to continue to aim for improvements and echo their achievements to the public.

"The public must know your performance so that people love the agency and are aware of its presence, ultimately making you proud," he told BNPP officials.
