In his speech at the launch of the new mechanism for distributing teacher allowances here on Thursday, the president emphasized that the government will continue to strive to boost the people's income and eradicate hunger.
"Children of the poor must not be poor. That is our determination. Children from poor families must rise and later help their parents," Prabowo stated.
The head of state emphasized that the government has devised strategies to ensure citizens have equal opportunities to improve their living standards.
One tangible step being taken by the government is the reform of fertilizer distribution for farmers.
However, President Prabowo explained that fertilizer distribution has been hindered by "145 regulations and the signatures of 38 governors, 500 regional heads, and several ministries," making it difficult for farmers to obtain fertilizers in a timely manner.
"We will shorten (the process), so the distribution will be directly from the factory to the farmers' groups. No more complicated routes that leave us unclear on where the process ends," he stated.
The president also highlighted the importance of bureaucratic efficiency and effective management of state resources to propel Indonesia towards becoming an advanced nation.
He also requested patience from all Indonesian citizens and reiterated that the government is "working tirelessly, day and night without break, to achieve the welfare of the people."
"We are on the right path. Indonesia has a bright future. We will manage our wealth effectively and rise as an advanced nation," he proclaimed.
