Jakarta (ANTARA) - Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto arrived in Abu Dhabi, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), on Wednesday at 6:30 a.m. local time to meet with UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

In an official statement received here, the president's arrival was greeted by several officials, including UAE Minister of Energy Suhail Mohamed Al Mazrouei.

After being welcomed with a guard of honor, President Prabowo then headed to a hotel in Abu Dhabi.

The bilateral meeting between the two leaders is set to take place at the Qasr Al Shati Palace, the UAE President's residence.

Before departing for Abu Dhabi from the Halim Perdanakusuma Air Base in Jakarta on Wednesday, President Prabowo said he would meet the UAE president to exchange views regarding global geopolitical and geoeconomic developments.

The UAE is the first stop on Prabowo's five-nation Middle East tour, including visits to Türkiye, Egypt, Qatar, and Jordan.

During this visit, the president is accompanied by Foreign Affairs Minister Sugiono and Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya.

President Prabowo and his entourage departed from Halim Perdanakusuma Air Base at around 01:05 a.m. Western Indonesia Time (WIB).
