The minister confirmed here during a parliamentary meeting on Monday that this approach applies both to countries bordering Indonesia and to those far away.
Sugiono emphasized that based on the Constitution, Indonesia condemns any form of colonization against any nation. The state will consistently participate in pursuing world peace, the minister remarked.
"We want to be part of a grand collaboration in the global scope, as we have a huge responsibility toward Indonesians," he elaborated.
Hence, the government will always employ such an approach in conducting diplomatic measures.
The minister also condemned attacks on any nation's sovereignty, such as Israel's strike on Iran's nuclear facility.
"Nuclear facilities must not be targeted due to the risks they pose to human and environmental safety," he noted.
On the same occasion, Sugiono cautioned that Israel's repeated offenses that went unpunished could encourage other countries and entities to act similarly.
The minister pointed out that countries are currently prioritizing survival over collaboration and cooperation due to geopolitical tensions.
He affirmed that the conflict in the Middle East could escalate if not handled properly, potentially triggering conflicts in other regions, such as the Indo-Pacific.
