Jakarta (ANTARA) - The State Logistics Agency (Bulog) has expressed its readiness to disburse rice aid to 18.27 million beneficiaries (PBP) across Indonesia as part of the government’s push to expand social assistance for low-income communities and check inflation.

Director of operations and public services at Bulog, M. Suyamto, said that the aid will be distributed without delay since the National Food Agency (Bapanas) has authorized it.

The authorization was received in Letter Number 170/TS.03.03/K/7/2025 concerning the Assignment for Rice Food Aid Distribution for June and July 2025, dated July 4.

“This food aid is part of the government’s 2025 social assistance expansion initiative to maintain economic stability for low-income communities and suppress food inflation, particularly rice,” Suyamto said in a statement issued here on Saturday.

To ensure on-target distribution, the aid will be provided based on PBP data recorded by Bapanas in coordination with the Social Affairs Ministry.

According to the Bapanas’ directive, the aid of 10 kilograms of rice per month for June and July will be provided in a single delivery, Suyamto informed. Thus, each recipient will receive 20 kg.

“We have received official instructions from Bapanas, and all Bulog distribution lines are ready to operate. We ensure the best quality rice from the Government Rice Reserves (CBP), which we have been maintaining,” he said.

Bulog has made comprehensive preparations for aid distribution, including ensuring the readiness of CBP stocks at warehouses across Indonesia, an adequate logistics fleet, and an information technology-based distribution system for real-time monitoring.

As part of the national strategy to strengthen food security and social protection, Bulog is continuing to strengthen cross-sector coordination with Bapanas, the Social Affairs Ministry, and local governments.

The distribution process is designed to be efficient and accountable. It will prioritize accuracy in the quantity, location, and timing of aid receipts.

“Bulog is committed to carrying out this task with full responsibility and synergy. We will continue to support the government in strengthening social protection and ensuring public access to food,” he added.

Bulog also expressed its appreciation for the support lent by President Prabowo Subianto and Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka, who are continuing to encourage the strengthening of the food aid program as a tangible manifestation of the state’s presence for the people.
