Jakarta (ANTARA) - The government has expanded the coverage of Free Health Check-Up (CKG) program to include all students from elementary to high school and madrasah levels under the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education and the Ministry of Religious Affairs.

Adita Irawati, a top expert from the Presidential Communications Office (PCO) stated in Jakarta on Sunday that the CKG program would be implemented simultaneously starting Monday (4/8) in 12 schools across various regions.

"The government want to ensure that Indonesian people are healthy and have access to health services," she explained.​​​​​​​

Adita added that the School CKG program is a concrete realization of President Prabowo Subianto's vision to develop superior human resources from an early age. This program is part of the President's "Best Results Quickly" agenda in the health sector, which emphasizes promotive and preventive approaches.

"The School CKG program is a long-term investment in the health of children and adolescents. The government wants to ensure that the entire population, including the younger generation, has equitable access to health services," she said.

Since its launch on February 10 until August 1, 2025, the CKG Program has reached more than 16 million people.

The government is targeting a total of 281 million residents to benefit from the CKG, including 53.8 million students from 282,000 educational institutions ranging from elementary, middle, high schools, and madrasas, to Sekolah Rakyat.

The School CKG program for Sekolah Rakyat started on July 14 and has reached around 8,000 students.

Meanwhile, the Presidential Communications Chief Hasan Nasbi stated that the School CKG aims to shift people's habits from visiting health facilities only when they are sick to visiting them while still healthy for early detection.

"The president wants Indonesian people, including children to change their paradigm about health. The government is even going to schools to checks students health since early stage," he said.​​​​​​​

PCO also expressed appreciation to the Ministry of Health for their rapid and large-scale efforts in implementing this program.

Early detection is expected to prevent serious health problems in the future, so that the nation's next generation grows up healthy and strong.
