Jakarta (ANTARA) - Danantara estimates that state-owned enterprises (SOEs) could save up to Rp8 trillion (approx. US$490 million) annually following the implementation of Danantara’s latest policy on tantiem or performance-based bonuses, for SOE board commissioners.

In July, Danantara issued a Circular Letter which, among other points, stipulates that SOE board commissioners and those of their subsidiaries are no longer allowed to receive bonuses, incentives, and/or any other form of compensation tied to company performance.

“The estimated savings, based on conservative calculations, could reach around Rp8 trillion per year. Hence, we have conducted a comprehensive review,” Danantara CEO Rosan Perkasa Roeslani told reporters at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta on Wednesday (Aug 6).

The potential savings calculation was formally presented by Roeslani during a Plenary Cabinet Meeting with President Prabowo Subianto and other ministers of the Merah Putih Cabinet at the Presidential Office.

During the session, President Prabowo specifically requested Roeslani to present the analysis results and impact assessment related to the new bonus (tantiem) policy.

In addition, Roeslani, who concurrently serves as Minister of Investment and Downstreaming, elaborated on the government's deregulation policy, noting that a new Government Regulation (Peraturan Pemerintah/PP) had recently been issued to provide greater certainty in the future regarding the timeline for permit-related processes.

“The Government Regulation has just been issued. Therefore, for all ministries involved in the licensing process with us, if the process meets the stipulated time frame and they do not respond, then the permit will be automatically issued by us,” he remarked.

Following the update, President Prabowo instructed all ministries and government institutions— especially those not yet fully integrated into the new digital licensing system—to immediately adjust and align themselves with the updated regulation.

“The president has directed all ministries not yet fully integrated into our system to follow up immediately, since the Government Regulation has just been issued,” Roeslani added.

However, Roeslani did not respond when asked by reporters about the specific number, issuance date, or a copy of the new Government Regulation.
