Jakarta (ANTARA) - The National Commission on Violence against Women (Komnas Perempuan) has underlined the need for data integration and synergy in documenting cases of violence against women.

Komnas Perempuan Chairperson Maria Ulfah Ansor here on Tuesday noted that the commission is collaborating with the Ministry of Women’s Empowerment and Child Protection and the Service Provider Forum (FPL) to conduct data matching to minimize duplication and improve accuracy.

According to her, this effort is crucial to ensure that policies are designed based on actual conditions.

Ansor called on all parties to help build a supportive ecosystem for victims by strengthening services, enforcing the law fairly, and continuing to reject violence.

“Let us ensure the data is not only used for annual reports but also fuels our collective fight to guarantee that every woman can live free from violence, fear, and indignity,” she said.

In this regard, Women’s Empowerment and Child Protection Minister Arifah Fauzi expressed appreciation to Komnas Perempuan for developing Sintas Puan, a system that documents cases of violence against women more comprehensively.

The FPL, a network of community-based organizations supporting women victims of violence, has developed Titian Perempuan, a database on cases of violence against women across Indonesia.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Women’s Empowerment and Child Protection operates the Women and Children Protection Online Information System (Simfoni PPA), which records and reports cases of violence against women and children.

The minister emphasized the importance of building and implementing data interoperability across the three systems.

“Simfoni PPA, Sintas Puan, and Titian Perempuan must be able to exchange and utilize data to complement and strengthen each other,” Fauzi remarked.
