Secretary of the South Sulawesi Office of Communication, Informatics, Statistics, and Encryption (Diskominfo SP), Sultan Rakib, in his statement in Makassar on Sunday, emphasized that BSSN’s presence is tangible proof of synergy between the central and regional governments in ensuring data protection.
He noted that data security has a direct impact on the quality of public services.
“BSSN’s presence represents a real synergy between the central and regional governments in maintaining cybersecurity. With the Sandi Data service, we hope the protection of South Sulawesi Provincial Government data will be more optimal, so that public services can run more safely and reliably,” he said.
A BSSN representative, Fajar Hariyanto, explained that Sandi Data is a service designed to protect government data from potential leaks and cyberattacks.
He stated that BSSN had gone through stages of pre-implementation, digital asset identification in the South Sulawesi Provincial Government, and system functionality and performance testing.
“Yesterday we carried out the implementation of Sandi Data. Prior to that, we conducted pre-implementation to identify the assets in the South Sulawesi Province. The implementation has been successfully carried out, and we have also tested its functionality and performance,” he said.
He expressed optimism that the service would enhance the protection of regional government data from the risk of leaks and misuse.
In addition to Sandi Data, BSSN and the South Sulawesi Provincial Government had previously established cooperation in the use of electronic signatures.
This collaboration is seen as a sustainable step to support a safer digital transformation.
“The cooperation between the South Sulawesi Provincial Government and BSSN has been very good. Previously there was the implementation of electronic signatures, and now the Sandi Data service. In the future, there will likely be more interaction between South Sulawesi Province and BSSN,” he added.
