Speaking during a working visit in Tangerang, Banten, on Thursday, Juliantono said the rollout of Kopdes Merah Putih facilities across various regions began in October and will continue in phases.
“We’ve discussed with local officials, including district heads, to start identifying government-owned land at the provincial, municipal, and village levels,” he said.
The government aims to provide infrastructure to support the newly established village cooperative initiative, which seeks to boost local economies and empower rural communities.
To ensure effective management, the Ministry of Cooperatives will provide training programs for Kopdes Merah Putih administrators, with a focus on cooperative management and business skills.

The ministry has also recruited business assistants and management officers to guide cooperative leaders in running their business units successfully.
“We have brought in business experts to train cooperative managers and help them implement our programs effectively,” Juliantono said.
The operational activities of Kopdes Merah Putih will be monitored through a digital oversight system managed by the Attorney General’s Office, known as the Jaga Desa (Village Watch) application.
“We hope this process will reassure all stakeholders that Kopdes Merah Putih cooperatives will be well-monitored and accountable,” he added.
The program is part of the government’s broader push to expand the role of cooperatives in national economic development, particularly at the grassroots level.
By mobilizing state-owned and village assets and combining them with structured training and oversight, the initiative is expected to strengthen rural entrepreneurship and improve transparency in local economic activities.
