Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Indonesian National Police (Polri) is preparing 350 trained and experienced Mobile Brigade (Brimob) personnel for assignments as United Nations (UN) peacekeepers, including in Gaza, Palestine.

Prior to deployment, the Commander of Brimob Corps, Commander General Ramdani Hidayat, said the personnel would undergo training covering civilian protection, humanitarian response, rules of engagement discipline, and adaptability to international dynamics.

"The number of these troops can be adjusted up or down according to the country's needs. Polri remains flexible and responsive to developments in the global situation," Hidayat stated in a statement here on Tuesday.

He also expressed support for President Prabowo Subianto’s policy and commitment to maintaining world peace, upholding human rights, and assisting the people of Gaza.

In the same statement, the Head of the National Police International Relations Division, Inspector General Amur Chandra, emphasized that Polri will carry out the mandate of the preamble to the 1945 Constitution in supporting world order.

This commitment aligns with President Prabowo’s message at the UN General Assembly on September 23, 2025, highlighting Indonesia’s dedication to deploying troops for global peacekeeping missions.

“Polri ensures that all personnel prepared must meet UN mission qualifications, not only the standards of contributing countries,” Chandra said.

Previously, the National Police had demonstrated notable achievements in peacekeeping missions, from night patrols protecting civilians to stabilizing security in the Central African Republic, as well as the success of the Formed Police Unit (FPU) contingent under MINUSCA.

The National Police also received an award directly from the UN Secretary-General for the quality and dedication of its forces in maintaining peace.

In addition, Polri continues to strengthen capacity at the international level through the Police Peacekeeping Training Center, which has developed personnel with strong competencies, including an increasing number of female police officers deployed in global missions, Chandra noted.
