"There were 23 cases out of 65 targets that were dealt with," head of the Jakarta Metropolitan Police`s operations bureau Senior Commissioner Sujarno said here on Tuesday.
He said the police had also uncovered 271 criminal cases which were not targeted in "Operation Sikat Jaya."
The police would optimize their efforts in the remaining 20 days of the operation to deal with 42 other cases that had been targeted so far.
Sujarwo said during the operation the police had arrested 605 suspects and 338 of them were held while 267 were given counseling.
The police had also confiscated as evidence cash money worth Rp17 million, two toy guns, an airs shot gun, 57 sharp weapons, 72 motorcycles and 57 cars during the operation.
Sujarno said the crimes discovered were mostly theft marked by violence and other special qualities, motor vehicle theft, torture, illegal debt collecting and extortion.
The Jakarta police would carry out the operation until October 30 to ensure e security ahead of the 26th Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games) which is to be held in Palembang and Jakarta starting November 11, 2011.
