Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Indonesian Trade Promotion Center (ITPC) Los Angeles this week promoted fashion products made by Indonesia's small and medium enterprises at the MAGIC Fashion Trade Show 2021 in the United States.

At the fashion exhibition, held from August 9 to August 11, 2021 at the Las Vegas Convention Center, Nevada, Indonesia managed to land potential transactions worth 1 billion Indonesian rupiahs as well as opportunities to meet with potential buyers, officials said.

"Considering the US fashion trend, Indonesia's products that were displayed in the exhibition are believed to have a strong competitiveness in the US market," Head of ITPC Los Angeles Bayu Nugroho said in an official statement released on Saturday.

The competitiveness of Indonesian products can be attributed to their unique background, and how they empower small as well as medium enterprises and are made with eco-friendly materials, he elaborated.

"Indonesia's participation in this exhibition is a form of commitment by the trade representation on the US west coast to consistently promote Indonesia's fashion products amid the US' reopening stage," Nugroho said.

This is important to help Indonesia preserve its market share as the fourth largest clothing supplier to the US in 2020, he added.

At the MAGIC Fashion Trade Show 2021, which attracted 65 thousand visitors, Indonesia showcased three women's clothing brands -- Hexi Los Angeles, Zoe Label, and Wastu -- and one women's handbag brand Everina.

Women-owned and minority-owned brands Hexi Los Angeles and Everina exhibited size-inclusive, vegan-friendly, and vegan leather-based products at the US show.

Meanwhile, Zoe Label and Wastu exhibited simple and chic contemporary products of premium quality at the show.
