Jakarta (ANTARA) - The National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN) and the Artificial Intelligence Research and Innovation Collaboration (KORIKA) will organize a virtual Artificial Intelligence Innovation Summit (AIIS) 2021 from November 10 to November 13, 2021.

"BRIN supports the acceleration of AI mastery to be used for various strategic sectors," BRIN's head, Laksana Tri Handoko, said in a statement issued here on Monday.

Artificial intelligence technology can be utilized to support strategic sectors such as farming, energy efficiency, cyber security, and creative industry, he added.

AIIS 2021 will be a conference and exhibition event that will showcase the latest developments and utilization of artificial intelligence technology in Indonesia, he informed.

It will also act as a platform to showcase innovative products from Indonesia's artificial intelligence sector to the world, he said.

AIIS 2021 committee chief Meiditomo Sutyarjoko said that the event will be presented on a website platform populated with three-dimensional booths and products displays.

Visitors can navigate it, walk through the hallway, and visit booths, much like visiting a real-life conventional exhibition, he informed.

In addition, participants and sponsors will be able to directly interact with visitors to edify and introduce artificial intelligence-based products and technological solutions, he said.

At the AIIS 2021 press conference on Monday, KORIKA's executive chairman Hammam Riza noted that achievements in the mastery and utilization of artificial intelligence technology will be showcased at AIIS.

According to Riza, the presence of KORIKA at AIIS 2021 will strengthen the orchestration of quadruple helix that comprises academicians or researchers, the business sector, the government, and the people.

Within AIIS 2021, KORIKA will bring together people or companies that need AI solutions with the people developing various AI applications, he said.

Twenty thousand people are expected to participate in the event which will feature 100 virtual booths, he informed.

Last year's Artificial Intelligence Summit (AIS) 2020 was virtually attended by 10 thousand people, he said.

Meanwhile, KORIKA's founder, Bambang Brodjonegoro, said he believes that the involvement of various actors within the quadruple helix is one of the solutions to expedite innovation, including within the artificial intelligence sector.

He said he expected AIIS 2021 to accelerate digital transformation and allow Indonesia to adapt to the 4.0 Industrial Revolution.

He then invited everyone, including students, to participate in AIIS 2021.

"Learn how to use AI and how AI will affect our life in the future," he remarked.
