Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Ministry of Home Affairs and Germany's Konrad Adenauer Foundation (KAS) have collaborated to boost the government's digital transformation.

The collaboration was implemented through a digital government transformation workshop called "Government Strategy in the Digital Era" held in Makassar, South Sulawesi, from June 12–14, 2024.

Head of the ministry's Human Resource Development Agency (BPSDM), Sugeng Hariyono, said that the workshop was a good initiative to improve digital transformation in Indonesia.

The workshop discussed digitalization for accelerating services and building people's trust in government institutions, he added.

Last year, BPSDM accepted the invitation of KAS Germany to participate in a strategic study on digital transformation in Berlin and Dresden.

As mandated by President Joko Widodo, the central and regional governments need tools to support the 2045 Golden Indonesia vision and realize a sovereign, advanced, and sustainable country, Hariyono said.

There are four pillars of digital transformation that need to be understood, namely culture, competence, security, and minimizing deviations, he added.

"The President has launched GovTech under the name INA Digital, a superapp that integrates various government services," he said.

To achieve the 2045 advanced Indonesia vision, the government has set five targets, eight missions, and 17 development directions that will be measured by 40 performance indicators.

Hariyono said he hoped that the workshop would make a real contribution to improving the competence of human resources (HR) in facing the digitalization era as well as strengthening collaboration between parties to realize better governance.

Meanwhile, KAS representative to Indonesia and Timor Leste, Dennis Suarsana, lauded the collaboration with the Home Ministry.

"Technological developments have brought great changes to human life, increasing transparency, and accountability in public services. Indonesia must adapt in delivering public service," he said. (INE)
