"Aerial monitoring can provide a more extensive and comprehensive view and allows monitoring in areas that are hard to reach," he said here on Sunday.
The Ministry of Transportation has launched the Transportation Information Center (Pusintrans), which integrates information centers from all transportation sectors and operates for 24 hours.
"To facilitate transportation monitoring during the 2024 Christmas and 2025 New Year transportation period, within the Pusintrans, there are aerial monitoring services available for several roads and transportation nodes," he said.
According to him, aerial monitoring allows monitoring efforts to be carried out in a more detailed manner.
He further said that the monitoring has been carried out at several points, among others, Gilimanuk Port, Bogor's Gadog Intersection, and Surabaya Gubeng Station.
"Aerial monitoring in the Pusintrans will be available throughout the 2024 Christmas and 2025 New Year (holidays period)," he affirmed.
The minister expressed hope that the efforts that have been made can optimize transportation services during the year-end holiday so that safety, comfort, and smoothness can be ensured more.
"With aerial monitoring, bad conditions can be tackled in a short time, making it more efficient," he remarked.
The Pusintrans integrates information centers from all transportation sectors such as, the Directorate General of Land Transportation, the Directorate General of Sea Transportation, the Directorate General of Air Transportation, the Railway Directorate General, and the Greater Jakarta Transportation Management Agency.
In addition to aerial monitoring, the information center is also connected to all transportation modes through CCTVs.
"People can also follow the aerial monitoring through the Ministry of Transportation's social media @kemenhub151," the minister said.
