Jakarta (ANTARA) - Chairperson of Commission XI of the House of Representatives Mukhamad Misbakhun on Monday praised the launch of the Daya Anagata Nusantara Investment Management Agency (BPI Danantara).

"We highly appreciate the government for establishing Danantara, and we acknowledge the government's great vision for using state-owned enterprises (SOEs) to maximize the prosperity of the people," he said at the Parliament Complex here on Monday.

The government has established the agency to utilize SOEs for the benefit of the public.

He pointed out that the commitment was emphasized by President Prabowo Subianto during his speech at the Danantara launch, where he referenced Article 33, paragraphs (1), (2), and (3), of the 1945 Constitution.

President Prabowo's speech served to remind everyone that using SOEs for the public good is indeed the main objective of state companies.

"The SOEs were created by the country's founders to enhance the people's welfare," Misbakhun said.

Regarding public concerns about the potential risks of Danantara failing to manage state assets due to misuse of funds or corruption, he emphasized that the investment management agency is overseen by multiple parties.

"Anyone, as the President stated, can monitor the operation of Danantara. Anyone can supervise, including the Supreme Audit Board (BPK), the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), and others," he expounded.

According to him, President Prabowo has demonstrated his firm commitment to combating corrupt practices in the country, including within the structure of Danantara.

He further noted that corrupt practices can obstruct the achievement of public welfare, which would contradict the spirit of establishing Danantara.

"The President's message is clear: he wants Danantara to be strong in serving the welfare of the people and future generations, and its management must be clean and transparent," he said.
