Minister Saifullah Yusuf reported this to President Prabowo Subianto during their meeting at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta on Friday.
Yusuf said that these sites include ministry-owned land and buildings, as well as other locations suggested by governors, district heads, and mayors.
He added that over 160 of these sites were obtained from regional governments, with 115 being plots of land measuring five hectares or more, while the rest are ministry-owned land and buildings that require renovation.
To achieve the goal of having 70 schools operational this year, he said, his ministry plans to assess the feasibility of these proposed locations and seek the president’s approval.
Yusuf stated that he would not prioritize any specific region in implementing the program, as the president had instructed his ministry to establish at least one Sekolah Rakyat in each district and city.
Yusuf also reported to President Prabowo that the ministry had disbursed assistance funds to over 20 million beneficiaries directly through their bank accounts.
