"This visit is part of the official agenda of the Malaysian deputy prime minister to Indonesia, which began on April 20, 2025," he remarked.
Hamidi's forthcoming meeting with Prabowo follows his visit to the Vice Presidential Palace, Jakarta, on Monday (April 21) morning, when he joined Indonesian Vice President Gibran Rakanuming Raka and several ministers for a bilateral discussion.
Speaking to the media after the hour-long meeting, Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture, Pratikno, stated that the two delegations discussed a range of strategic issues related to their bilateral partnerships across various sectors.
"We spoke about strengthening our economic cooperation, with a special focus on developing our connections through the Batam and Johor regions," he noted.

The two governments also agreed to enhance their collaboration in developing a sustainable halal industry and improving protection for Indonesian migrant workers through the optimal implementation of the one-channel system.
In the education sector, Pratikno stated that Indonesia and Malaysia share a common view on the importance of expanding cooperation through the Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) program.
Furthermore, the meeting covered cooperation in agriculture and maritime affairs, particularly protecting fishermen in border waters. "Recognizing Indonesia's strength in agricultural productivity, the Malaysian deputy prime minister expressed his country’s interest in learning from our nation," he remarked.
The delegations also discussed religious affairs, exploring opportunities for cooperation in providing accommodation for Hajj and Umrah pilgrims in Saudi Arabia, and strengthening moderate Islamic education between the two countries.
Additionally, both countries reiterated their shared commitment to advocating for the independence of Palestine.
Later in the afternoon, Deputy PM Hamidi held a meeting with Head of the National Disaster Mitigation Agency (BNPB), Suharyanto, to strengthen coordination for more efficient aid distribution to disaster-affected communities in Southeast Asia.
