President Zegarra made the statement during a working lunch in the Oval Room of the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta, on Monday, ahead of the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Indonesia and Peru.
"Our presence aims to further strengthen the Peru-Indonesia trade relationship," she remarked.
President Zegarra stated that the agreement follows an invitation extended from President Prabowo during their meeting on the sidelines of the 2024 Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit.
"We will soon sign a Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA), allowing our blueberries to enter the Indonesian market. The process for pomegranate exports is also underway," she remarked.
Zegarra also expressed gratitude for Indonesia's commitment to streamlining processes and procedures, enabling blueberry exports from Peru to Indonesia.
"Thank you, Mr. President, for your willingness. This has streamlined the process and procedures, and now, we can say that Peruvian blueberries have become a reality in Indonesia," she stated.
