Jakarta (ANTARA) - Peruvian President Dina Ercilia Boluarte Zegarra expects the Indonesia-Peru Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) to be finalized soon, enabling her country to easily supply its leading commodities, including pomegranates and blueberries, to Indonesia.

Zegarra conveyed this directly to President Prabowo Subianto during a working luncheon in the Oval Room of the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta, on Monday.

"Our presence is intended to strengthen our trade relations. We will soon sign the CEPA for our blueberries to enter the Indonesian market, along with pomegranates, which are currently in the process," she told Prabowo.

Zegarra also thanked Prabowo for simplifying the policy, reducing complicated processes and procedures.

President Boluarte arrived in Jakarta on Sunday (August 10) for a state visit, responding to President Prabowo's invitation when they met at the 2024 APEC Summit in Lima.

"Since then, we have been working hard, through our Ministry of Foreign Affairs, to realize this visit. We will also celebrate our 50 years of friendship between Indonesia and Peru," she stated.

At the Merdeka Palace, Boluarte's arrival was welcomed with a cavalry cortege escorting her presidential car.

President Prabowo, as host, greeted Boluarte and her delegation at the palace. The two then shook hands, and President Prabowo led his guest into the Palace.

During her visit to Jakarta, President Boluarte was accompanied by Foreign Affairs Minister Elmer Schialer Salcedo, Minister of Economy and Finance Raúl Pérez-Reyes Espejo, Minister of Agrarian Development and Irrigation Ángel Amnero Campo, Minister of Foreign Trade and Tourism Úrsula Desilú León Chempén, Secretary General of the Presidential Office Enrique Vilchez, Peruvian Ambassador to the Republic of Indonesia Luis Tsuboyama, and Director General for Asia and Oceania at the Peruvian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Fernando Quiros Campos.

Meanwhile, President Prabowo was accompanied by Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya, Minister of Trade Budi Santoso, Minister of Agriculture Andi Amran Sulaiman, Minister of Foreign Affairs Sugiono, and Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi.
