Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Indonesian Child Protection Commission (KPAI) has called for the alleged deathly bullying cases in Central Java, to be processed in accordance with the Child Protection Law and the Juvenile Criminal Justice System (SPPA) Law.

“So that the legal process continues in line with child protection efforts. KPAI reminds law enforcers to uphold the Child Protection Law and the Juvenile Criminal Justice System Law,” KPAI member Diyah Puspitarini said here on Tuesday.

According to her, law enforcement in cases of child bullying must be firmly implemented to prevent similar incidents from recurring in the future.

“The hope is that this can be handled immediately so that no more children become victims,” Puspitarini said.

Previously, a 13-year-old junior high school student identified by the initials AR in Brebes District, Central Java, died on August 12, 2025, allegedly after experiencing bullying by four of his peers.

Several days earlier, the victim’s mother had asked about her child’s health condition, to which the child complained of pain throughout his body.

On August 11, the victim was no longer able to walk on his own and had to be assisted by his sibling. At that time, AR admitted that he had been abused by his friends.

The victim later experienced seizures and was taken to a local hospital.

One day after receiving treatment, AR died. However, the hospital stated that the victim died due to dengue hemorrhagic fever.

The Brebes Police are still investigating the case.

Meanwhile, a 12-year-old Islamic boarding school student in Wonogiri, Central Java, identified by the initials MMA, was also reported dead, allegedly due to bullying.

Police have named three fellow students as suspects, categorizing them as children in conflict with the law.

The three suspects are alleged to have assaulted the victim on Saturday (December 13) and Sunday (December 14). MMA reportedly suffered multiple bruises across his body.

On Sunday (December 14), the victim was found unconscious when his parents came to visit him. He was immediately taken to hospital, but later died on Monday (December 15).
