The minister responded to reporters' question regarding sanctions for the doctor found by the Ministry of Health to have instructed an intern to manipulate the schedule to create three shifts and forge Dr. Myta's signature.
"We hope this (medical audit) can be completed within a week so that we can draw conclusions. Based on these conclusions, the Professional Disciplinary Council, through the Indonesian Health Council, will propose sanctions," Sadikin informed on Thursday (May 7).
According to him, the audit will cover procedures, professionalism, and ethics.
Regarding follow-up action, his office has formed an investigative team consisting of representatives from the Ministry of Health's Inspectorate General, the Directorate General of Human Resources for Health, the local Indonesian Doctors Association, and the Sriwijaya University Faculty of Medicine Alumni Association.
"This team will not only review the standard reports from the hospital and the relevant health department, but I have also specifically requested them to directly meet all the intern doctors. They will also meet with their parents and external parties who interacted with them. This will ensure we obtain complete, open, objective, and transparent information," the minister emphasized.
Dr. Myta died of severe lung disease at Moh. Hoesin General Hospital, Palembang, on May 1, 2026.
