"We need to maintain Pancasila principles in all state activities," Yuliandri stated while reading a speech from Minister of Education, Culture, Research and Technology, Nadiem Makarim here on Thursday.
Yuliandri appealed to the public to self-reflect and understand the philosophy that forms the basis of the Indonesian state, namely Pancasila.
Pancasila contains five basic universal values. The first value is divinity, i.e., the preparation and implementation of policies must consider spiritual aspects that are in harmony with the Indonesian culture.
He cited the example of the Ministry of Education's commitment to guaranteeing the right of all students to receive religious education.
The next value is humanity in which all parties must elevate human dignity and prioritize dignity in the policies and implementation of state programs.

The third value is diversity which means Indonesia includes all islands and ethnic groups. Hence, this plurality needs to be viewed as unity.
Next is the value of Pancasila that is related to democracy.
"Indonesia needs to enable children to be able to interact, speak, and express their thoughts," he stated.
The last universal value is social justice. It means that the state must treat everyone equally, without discrimination, including ensuring access to education that is inclusive of gender and disability.
"The Ministry of Education and Culture is also working to open equal school opportunities for everyone, regardless of socio-economic background, through social assistance policies and other affirmation programs," he remarked.
