Jakarta (ANTARA) - The National Alms Agency (Baznas) partnered with Egyptian humanitarian institutions, Bait Zakat Wa As-Shadaqat and Sunnah Al-Hayyah, to deliver 41 container trucks loaded with 45 thousand boxes of humanitarian aid packages to Palestine.

The aid comprises various essential food items, such as instant noodles, rice, beans, cheese, canned tuna, biscuits, juice, flour, sauce, and dates, which will be distributed through the two institutions.

"We are preparing aid packages for Palestine. Their trials are indeed difficult, but we also believe in togetherness, prayer, and spirit to ease their suffering," Baznas Chairman Noor Achmad noted in a statement on Monday.

In addition to logistical support, Baznas plans to rebuild various public facilities, including hospitals and schools, damaged during the Israeli aggression.

To facilitate these efforts, Baznas is collaborating with international organizations, such as the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA), the Jordan Hashemite Charity Organization (JHCO), and King Hussein Cancer Foundation (KHCF).

"We have recently signed an MoU with the three of them. By expanding (our) network of cooperation, we are looking for facilities in the distribution of humanitarian aid for Palestine," Achmad remarked.

So far, the agency has successfully distributed humanitarian aid valued at Rp120 billion (US$7.1 million) to the Palestinian people, with the number of beneficiaries reaching 407,350 and still growing.

Achmad expressed hope that this assistance will be immensely beneficial and serve as a testament to Indonesia's support, solidarity, and concern for Palestine.

"Our utmost gratitude to all Indonesians who have trusted us and cared for the Palestinians. May God reward this kindness with multiple blessings and make this charity our good deed in this world and the hereafter," he remarked.

Regarding the reconstruction initiative following the ceasefire announcement, Achmad expressed hope that President Prabowo Subianto and Foreign Affairs Minister Sugiono would officiate the groundbreaking as a symbol of Indonesian solidarity with Palestine.
