Prabowo shared this message while hosting Peruvian President Dina Ercilia Boluarte Zegarra at the Merdeka Palace in Jakarta on Monday.
"President Boluarte's visit comes with a special message, considering that Indonesia and Peru will commemorate the 50-year milestone of diplomatic relations tomorrow," Prabowo remarked in the palace's Oval Chamber.
Furthermore, during a working lunch with the Peruvian leader, Prabowo highlighted that Monday's meeting marked the second occasion in the past few months, following his official visit to Lima, Peru, for the APEC Summit 2024 in November.
"I am genuinely convinced that our countries have room for deeper cooperation, considering that we share the same interests—we are both determined to bring prosperity to our people," he affirmed.
Prabowo highlighted the similarities between Indonesia and Peru, noting that both are Pacific Ocean countries and developing economies.
"Bearing this in mind, I would like to once again express my gratitude for your visit," he told President Boluarte.
The Peruvian president arrived in Indonesia through the Soekarno-Hatta Airport in Tangerang, Banten, on Sunday (August 10), where she was greeted by Indonesian Trade Minister Budi Santoso.
She then reached the Merdeka Palace at around 10 a.m. local time on Monday. President Prabowo welcomed her with an official ceremony featuring the national anthems of both countries and a gun salute.
The two leaders then proceeded to the Credential Room for a photo session and guest book signing before holding a closed-door meeting in Prabowo's office.
