He conveyed this during a bilateral meeting with President Lee on the sidelines of the 2025 Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit in Gyeongju, South Korea, on Saturday.
"I would like to congratulate you on your leadership of APEC. This event was organized very efficiently, and always on time down to the minute," he said in an audio recording received in Jakarta on Saturday.
In his introductory remarks, President Prabowo also expressed admiration for President Lee’s leadership in hosting a productive and well-timed forum, as well as appreciation for the dinner held earlier by the host country.
According to Prabowo, the K-pop music and dance performances at the dinner have helped South Korea gain global influence, as the art form is extremely popular among young people worldwide, including in Indonesia.
"I would like to thank you for the lively dinner last night. The event was very interesting, and I think Korea will conquer the world with music and dance. All young Indonesians are crazy about K-pop," Prabowo said, drawing a warm smile from President Lee.
Meanwhile, President Lee expressed his gratitude and honor for President Prabowo's presence in South Korea.
He then highlighted the importance of dialogue and cooperation amidst the uncertain global security situation.
"We are living in an unstable security environment. Therefore, I would like to ask you, Mr. President, to share some of your wisdom with me and the Republic of Korea," he said.
On the occasion, President Lee also praised President Prabowo's leadership in his first year of administration.
President Lee added that South Korea is looking forward to President Prabowo's official state visit, which was postponed last September.
"I believe the Korean people will welcome you wholeheartedly," President Lee stated.
Accompanying President Prabowo at the meeting were Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto, Minister of Foreign Affairs Sugiono, Minister of Investment and Downstream Rosan Roeslani, and Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya.
