"If you stay here, (it will be) free of charge," Riyadi, owner of the Avifah Homestay in Kampung Baru, told Jokowi when the president sought information from him about the rent price of the homestay for tourists, as per the Presidential Secretariat's Press Bureau statement received here, Friday.
The president and First Lady Iriana then smiled at Riyadi's response before posing the same question to the homestay owner.
"It will be one hundred thousand rupiahs per night, Mr President," he remarked.
Jokowi then told Riyadi and other homestay owners in Kampung Baru to maintain facilities and buildings developed by the central government for residents.
On the second day of the working visit to East Nusa Tenggara, the president and the first lady visited the site of the accommodation facilities development project intended to support the Labuan Bajo tourism destination in West Manggarai District.
The president thereafter visited the Wae Mese II drinking water management system installation to inspect and officiate the facility before continuing his trip to the Nurul Falah Mosque to perform the Friday prayer.
After the Friday prayer and lunch, the president and his entourage returned to Jakarta from Labuan Bajo's Komodo International Airport where he had officiated the expansion project on Thursday (July 21).
While inaugurating the airport, the president lauded the Komodo Airport for complementing the tourism potential of Labuan Bajo.
"Labuan Bajo is (now) complete. There is culture, the scenery is amazing, the beaches are beautiful, and there is something that does not exist anywhere else in the world. It is the Komodo (dragons) on Komodo Island and Rinca Island. We must use this power to prosper our people here," Jokowi remarked at the inauguration of the expanded airport, Thursday.
Apart from First Lady Iriana, Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung, Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Sandiaga Uno, and Minister of Public Works and Public Housing Basuki Hadimuljono also accompanied President Jokowi during his visit to East Nusa Tenggara.
