"No. Madam Minister joined the meeting," Hartarto told reporters after a cabinet meeting led by President Prabowo Subianto at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta on Sunday.
He added that Indrawati did not deliver a presentation, as the president directly presided over the two-hour session.
Hartarto's remarks were made in response to reports that the state treasurer had met with President Prabowo to tender her resignation.
Indrawati has been under public scrutiny amid nationwide unrest, and her private residence in South Tangerang was reportedly stormed by rioters who committed acts of vandalism and looting.
Similar attacks also targeted the homes of other legislators.
In response to the turmoil, President Prabowo met with political party leaders and parliamentary heads on Sunday to discuss ways to ease tensions.
He stressed that the government respects freedom of expression and is committed to heeding the public's dissent.
To address grievances, he noted that the House of Representatives has decided to cut legislators' allowances, which were widely criticized by protesters.
He also stated that political parties had suspended certain cadres from the House and that he had directed the police to conduct an open investigation into the death of an online motorbike taxi driver who was run over by a police vehicle during a riot on Thursday night.
